In 1958, Qui? Detective returned to its original title, Détective.  By the end of that year, a fresh new design brought banners with red backgrounds to its cover and other evidence of a more modern look.  In these issues from 1959, several headlines make reference to stories inside — this represented a change from most earlier issues of the magazine, which rarely had more than one title on their covers.  With this redesign, Détective edged towards the emphasis on entertainment celebrities and sex crimes for which it would be notorious in later decades.
